This wouldn't be a problem if their UMTS network had been built ionizer the years like Rogers GSM network. Instead, Bell had made the decision to use WCDMA and since that's not compatible with UMTS, new users can only use the smaller, newer network. If you're on Rogers, at least when you lose UMTS, you can still use their GSM network.
