Programming Your Sanyo 8300 Cell Phone for Bell Mobility

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Using this short guide, we will hold your hand and walk you through the process of programming your phone number into your Sanyo 8300 Bell Mobility cell phone. Don’t worry; the process isn’t hard. In seven easy steps, you’ll have your phone programmed in no time. And you’ll save up to $25 on in-store programming fees.

So let’s get started! First, though, turn your phone on. If you are using your battery and do not have your phone plugged into your charger, check to ensure that the battery has at least two bars’ worth of charge.

Step 1: Press this series of buttons on your phone: [#][#][your six-digit Lock Code][#]. The screen will display MDN SERVICE PROGRAMMING. Please note: If you do not have your Lock Code, contact Bell Mobility customer service by phone at 1-800-667-0123. Or you can watch our video Activating Your Bell Cell Phone at bell.ca to find out how to get your Lock Code.

Step 2: Scroll to the EDIT option on your phone’s screen and press the [MENU/OK] key. The screen will display the current phone number (called the Mobile Directory Number or MDN).

Step 3: Enter your 10-digit cell phone number, including your area code.

Step 4: Press the [MENU/OK] key. Your screen will display the mobile station ID (MSID).

Step 5: Enter your ten-digit cell phone number again, including your area code, into the field.

Step 6: Press the [MENU/OK] key.

Step 7: Scroll to DONE on the screen and press the [MENU/OK] key. Your phone will shut down and restart by itself.

Please note: The 10-4 function defaults to off (DISABLED) when the phone is reprogrammed.  So if you use this feature, you’ll have to turn it on in the main menu.

And you’re done. You’ve just programmed your Sanyo 8300 cell phone for Bell Mobility.

Now that you’ve programmed your phone number, your phone should be ready to use, as long as it has already been activated by Bell. If you have not yet activated your phone, you can have it done in the store or, if you’re a do-it-yourselfer, you can watch our video Activating Your Bell Cell Phone at bell.ca for a complete set of instructions.
