Programming Your LG 5550 Cell Phone for Bell Mobility

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Using this short guide, we will hold your hand and walk you through the process of programming your phone number into your LG 5550 Bell Mobility cell phone. Don’t worry; the process isn’t hard. In ten easy steps, you’ll have your phone programmed in no time. And you’ll save up to $25 on in-store programming fees.

So let’s get started! First, though, turn your phone on. If you’re using your battery and do not have your phone plugged into your charger, check to ensure that the battery has at least two bars’ worth of charge.

Step 1: Press this series of buttons on your phone: [#][#][7][7][6][4][7][2][6]. Press the [SAVE] button.

Step 2: Enter the six-digit Lock Code that was provided for you by Bell Mobility. Your electronic serial number (ESN) will be displayed.  Please note: If you do not have your Lock Code, contact Bell Mobility customer service by phone at 1-800-667-0123. Or you can watch our video Activating Your Bell Cell Phone at bell.ca to find out how to get your Lock Code.

Step 3: Press the [OK] button. The NAM1 CDMA DIRECTORY # screen will be displayed.  On this screen, you will see the existing phone number.

Step 4: Enter your ten-digit cell phone number, including your area code, into the field.

Step 5: Press the [OK] button. The NAM1 MOBILE PHONE # screen will be displayed.

Step 6: Enter your ten-digit cell phone number again, including your area code, into the field.

Step 7: Press the [OK] button. The NAM1 HOME SID screen will be displayed.

Step 8: Press the [OK] button to continue. The NAM1 NAME screen will be displayed.

Step 9: Press the [OK] button again to continue. The BASIC COMPLETED screen will be displayed.

Step 10: Press the [EXIT] button to finish. Your phone will shut down and restart by itself.

And you’re done. You’ve just programmed your LG 5550 cell phone for Bell Mobility.

Now that you’ve programmed your phone number, your phone should be ready to use, as long as it has already been activated by Bell. If you have not yet activated your phone, you can have it done in the store or, if you’re a do-it-yourselfer, you can watch our video Activating Your Bell Cell Phone at bell.ca for a complete set of instructions.
