RIM’s Blackberry Style 9670 coming to Bell Mobility

Sprint is launching RIM’s Blackberry Style 9670 phone with the new Blackberry OS 6.0 on October 31st, which means it will be only a matter of time before Bell Mobility has it, too.

Blackberry phones are usually built with a candybar form factor and portrait keyboard, and that seems fine with a lot of Blackerry users. However, the new Blackberry Style is a clamshell device, that seems to be targeted mainly to women and is probably considered a consumer device.

RIM has been trying to get into the consumer market for a while, and although it has had some success with people that like the Blackberry brand and want to be associated with business people, it hasn’t really gotten too far, when phones with more modern operating sytems like Android and iPhones are out there.

The new Blackberry OS 6.0 should reduce the gap in functionality and looks, though, so it’s not all that bad. It comes with a modern mobile browser just like iPhone, Android phones or Palm Pre, and it also has over 7000 available apps. The apps should be enough for most people, as long as they have the most important and used applications, like Facebook, Twitter and so on.

The Blackberry Style phone that is supposed to arrivate at Bell Mobility soon, comes with:

  • 5 MP camea with flash
  • Wi-Fi and GPS
  • Stereo Bluetooth
  • 8 GB Micro-SD
  • Universal search
  • Visual voicemail

All these features for the right price should make a lot of Canadian women happy when it comes to Bell Mobility.

It is November 24th, the Style never made it to bell as predicted…got another date in mind? And what about pricing .. 3yr, no contract, etc…

Bell and BlackBerry have unfortunately had to delay the launch of their last 4 new units, so this delay should not be too unexpected. We’ll keep our ears to the ground until we get an update…

    Thanks for the comment!
