New Blackberry Bold 9780 Coming to Bell Mobility on November 2nd

Bell Mobility has announced that the new Blackberry Bold 9780 is coming to their network on November 2nd. This phone will be available in both white and black, it will have a 2.4″ HVGA display (480×360 resolution), 512 RAM, 5 MP camera with Flash, Wi-Fi, and a QWERTY keyboard you’re used to from other Blackberry Bold devices.

While, the hardware is nothing too extraordinary, it comes with the new Blackberry OS 6.0, so that alone should be quite an improvement over previous Blackberry Bold phones.

The browser in this Bell Mobility Blackberry Bold 9780 is a modern Webkit browser, the kind of browser you’d expect from every Android phone or iPhone. It also comes with multitouch, so browsing the web or zooming in on your pictures should be much easier now.

The media player has also been revamped, offering a much more streamlined and intuitive experience, close to the experience you’d get from an iPhone.?Contacts should also?have a more unified look, showing you everything from IM and messages, to Twitter and Facebook updates.

Although, Blackberry OS 6.0 is a step in the right direction, giving Blackberry phones a modern look, the core OS is still pretty old and can’t keep up with new modern OS’s. It’s hard for developers to create apps for it, and if it’s hard for them, that means consumers won’t see a whole lot of apps on Blackberry either.

The price of Bell Mobility Blackberry Bold 9780 is $499, which seems a little expensive for normal consumers, but it’s probably ok for hardcore Blackberry fans who want to latest Blackberry phones. No word on how much it will cost on contract, yet.
