Using this short guide, we will hold your hand and walk you through the process of activating your HSPA LG CU720 Shine on the Bell Mobility network.

Don’t worry – the process isn’t hard. In 13 easy steps, you’ll have your phone activated in no time. And you’ll save up to $25 on in-store programming fees.

Before You Begin:

Before you begin, you’ll need to have Bell SIM card.  The Bell SIM card will allow you use specific GSM HSPA devices on the new Bell Mobility network.  If you do not already have a Bell SIM card you can purchase one online or from a Bell dealer (the current price is $5). They can also activate the SIM card for you, or you can do online using Bell.ca

Once you’ve got your Bell SIM card ready jump down to step 1.

Steps to Activate Your LG CU720 on Bell

1. Remove battery

2. Insert Bell SIM Card

3. Insert Battery

4. Turn phone on

5. If your LG CU720 has the correct Bell network setting selected and your Bell SIM is activated you will see the word “Bell” appear on the lower half of your screen. If your SIM is activated but the phone setting is not set to the Bell network then you will not see “Bell” and you will need to update your phones network settings.

6. Press [Menu]

7. Select [Settings]

8. Select [Connection]

9. Select [Network Selection]

10. Select [Manual] – This step may take a couple minutes to complete the network search

11. Select [302:880-3G(O)] – This is the code represents the Bell/Telus HSPA Network for most of Canada.

12. Once selected you’ll hear a chime and you’ll see a “3G” logo with the signal strength bar at the top left-hand corner of the display.

13. Press [Power button] – the power button is the button above the [3def] key on your phone.

That’s it! You’ve just activated your LG CU720 Shine for Bell Mobility.

To test that everything was completed successfully try making a test call. Dial [*][6][1][1].  If you get an error message on your phone “Network Unavailable” then you may have selected the wrong network or your SIM card was not activated.
