Bell Mobility Introduces the Motorola PRO+ 4G Blackberry Alternative

There are still a lot of Canadians who use Blackberries because they like that type of physical keyboard that usually comes only with Blackberry devices. this is Motorola has built an Android 2.3 phone that looks and works physically a lot like a Blackberry, but with a more modern operating system and software.

The Bell Motorola PRO+ 4G is a high-quality smartphone designed to replace your old Blackberry by having improved hardware and specs, but also software through Android 2.3 which also has access to about 10x as many applications as the Blackberry App World. For casual users, a phone like this one would certainly be preferable over a Blackberry, because it would offer you a better overall experience.

This Bell Mobility phone has decent specs too, coming with a 1 Ghz processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, which is more than enough for applications, microSD card to expand your storage up to 32 GB, 5 MP camera, VGA recording. It also comes with a 3.1″ display that has a 640×480 resolution, which is pretty high for that kind of display, which means the text will be sharper and more clear on it. Bell strikes first with new LTE Network in Canada’s largest market

On Wednesday (September 14th 2011), Bell Mobility announced the official launch of their LTE network in Canada’s largest market. This move beats Rogers, who had stated they would launch their next generation network in the Toronto area the week of September 19th. If you are a Bell customer and you live in Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, or Guelph are now covered by Bell Mobility’s LTE network.

LTE stands for Long Term Evolution, and is the latest in cellular network technologies and promises data download speeds upto 75Mbps (mega bits per second). At these high data speeds it is possible to realistically get data speeds as high or higher than home Internet connections. Allowing for data intensive applications like live-video-streaming to run smoothly to your mobile device.

Currently there are few devices available to take advantage of Bell’s new LTE network, currently Bell has one LTE device, the 4G LTE Siearra Wireless U313 Turbo Stick. Bell has announced that another LTE device also a Turbo Stick will be launching next week. Although there have been no Smartphones that have announced we expect the LTE Samsung Galaxy S II will be available shortly.
